 I've had the awesome privilege of connecting women of all ages and backgrounds. What I've discovered is regardless of race, color, creed, income, education, family background or status every woman has a story. Having lived in several states such as New Jersey, North Carolina, New York many women of color have never shared their stories. 

I have often wondered, "DOES OUR BLACK AND BROWN STORIES MATTER?"

Many of the WOMEN in my family served in fields such as Nursing, Early Childhood Daycare Center, 

Education, Hospitality / Hotel, Restaurant Cook and Private Duty Nursing. My great-grandmother owned a Gas Station.

My grand-father and two of my uncles served the United States Military. My ancestors built an AME ZION 

Church in North Carolina and it's still standing. Our stories matter because we are all born with God-given purpose. 

COLOR shouldn't  matter when people are sick and need compassionate care, healing and recovery.

COLOR shouldn't matter when people need their pre-school children in a safe learning environment.

COLOR shouldn't matter when people want their children to obtain an excellent education.

COLOR shouldn't  matter when people need a delicious home cooked meal.

COLOR shouldn't  matter when people want their hotel room cleaned and replenished with fresh linen and towels.

COLOR shouldn't matter when people need fuel for their car, motorcycle, bus, truck or van.

COLOR shouldn't matter when people need a convenient store, restroom or a snack.

COLOR shouldn't matter when people need a licensed hairstylist or barbershop.

COLOR shouldn't matter when people needed life, medical, pet, disability or burial insurance

COLOR shouldn't matter when people need a pastor with the heart of a shepherd and a spiritual family

If you've ever been made to feel that your life doesn't matter because of the color of your skin it's not your fault.

You were created in the image of God. You are important. Your life matters. You have a call and cause to fulfill.

Perhaps you're dealing a challenging situation. Maybe you're in between jobs and considering making a career change. Perhaps you just relocated and you're lonely.  Maybe you're preparing for marriage and a new life. 

Maybe you just had a baby and feel a little overwhelmed. Perhaps you've been divorced for years and the emotional, financial, social and spiritual recovery seem to be slow. Maybe you haven't had a vacation in over 10 years.

There are times in life when we feel stuck, empty or simply need clarity. When you find yourself at a crossroad don't be afraid to reach out for support. Trust yourself. You don't have to go it alone. INVEST in YOURSELF, start a business, buying your first home, finally write that book, raise resilient children,  find help for your special needs child, deal with the toxic workplace conflict, overcome "people-pleasing" addiction. Find your voice and your purpose.
